Surgery Update

Good evening sports fans! A brief update by Adam from the Bausch house on the activies of Thursday. At 7:30 we received word that surgery was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Needing a good two hours to get to Hillcrest Hospital pushed us to the limit (i.e. we traveled with great efficiency). Arrived at 9:40 and, after myriads of q & a, Liz was wheeled back to the OR at 11:55. Joan and I waited, had a nice lunch with Jeff T., and before we knew it Dr. Weber was in the waiting room giving the good news. Liz did great, the implant was successfully inserted, and he said they tested it and it worked fine. When all was said and done, we were in the driveway here at 6:45. Liz had a bowl of chicken noodle soup, antibiotic and pain meds, and was in bed at 8:00. Addison and Mimi did great today and much thanks to the babysitting squad! That's all from here tonight. Liz gets the bandages off tomorrow and we'll try to upload pics prior to and after removal. She will go back in two weeks to see Dr. Weber and get the cochlear implant turned on at a limited setting. Thanks to everyone for your love and prayers! We will keep you updated.
